Compiling a Bibliography

References

Good research requires documenting the sources you used and compiling a bibliography.

Two common styles for academic writing are listed below, but students should check with their instructors to see which style to follow.

The "How do I ..." guides below provide examples of commonly used sources according to these two styles. We recommend you check the particular style guides for examples not provided.

APA Style

Typically used when writing research papers in the sciences and social sciences. APA style requires the creation of a References list.

MLA Style

Commonly used when writing papers in the arts and humanities. MLA style requires the creation of a Works Cited page.

If you need any further assistance on compiling a bibliography or citing sources, please contact your Campus Library.
