Compiling a Bibliography
Good research requires documenting the sources you used and compiling a bibliography.
Two common styles for academic writing are listed below, but students should check with their instructors to see which style to follow.
The "How do I ..." guides below provide examples of commonly used sources according to these two styles. We recommend you check the particular style guides for examples not provided.
APA Style
Typically used when writing research papers in the sciences and social sciences.

- Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th ed., 2010 is available for use at all campus libraries.
MLA Style
Commonly used when writing papers in the arts and humanities.

- MLA handbook for writers of research papers, 7th ed., 2009 or 6th ed., 2003 is available for use at most campus libraries.
